"For he who is least among you all--he is the greatest." (Luke 9:48)
Here's some more "bibical errancy" questions I found about Jesus.
[Question] While on the Cross Jesus said, "My God my God, why hast thou forsaken me" (Mark 15:34). How could Jesus be our savior when he couldn't even save himself? Those aren't the words of a man voluntarily dying for our sins; those are the words of a man who can think of a hundred other places he would rather be.
[Answer] Do you really think God couldn't save himself? Before he was taken he said this in Matthew 26:53-54, "Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?" Jesus answers it quite plainly, he could call for help, but didn't because he had to fulfill the scripture to and to do the will of God the Father. See also the last response to for an explaination of the fact that Jesus is God.
The next two questions have a similar answer question indirectly. Read on.
[Question] While on the Cross Jesus said, "Forgive them Father they know not what they do." To whom was he speaking? They say, "God." But I thought he was God. How can God speak to God if there is only one god? That's two gods.
[Question] In Luke 23:43 Jesus said to the thief on the cross, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." But how could they have been together in paradise that day if Jesus lay in the tomb for three days?
[Answer] Again, remember what I said earlier. Also, listen to what John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." I'll have to do another post on this, but for now I'll just explain it. The word "Word" is refering to Jesus. In the beginning [when God created the heavens and the earth] was Jesus. This obviously showing the connection between God and Jesus. Jesus was with God. Self explainitory. Finally, Jesus was God. So you may be thinking, that makes sense, but I don't believe that the "Word" was really Jesus. Look what it goes on to say in John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. What does Christianity claim or believe? That God sent his only son [Son of God] Jesus down to this earth to take on human form. We believe He came to give us life, to become children on God and look what John 1:12-13 states, "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."
So there it is, whoever wrote these questions obviously had not studied the Bible thouroughly because there were some simple answers that proved that there was no errancy or contradiction.
God willing I'll "see" you all later.
